Vancouver, British Columbia, has many places to visit. Here’s a list of some of those places. You don’t have to visit all of them, just the good ones.
Granville Island: Granville is a small island that is accessible by “aquabus” (Aquabuses are small boats that are NOT free and fit maybe 20 people maximum.) On the island are multiple markets, including the Public Market and the Kid’s Market. There is also the Granville Island Brewing Co., which was one of the first brewhouses in North America. It serves beer, which pleases adults, and is right next to the Kid’s Market, which pleases kids. Granville Island gets ***1/2 out of 5.
Science World: Move over, Disney World! Ha, ha, just kidding! But Science World is terrific. It features fun, educational exhibits, which are quite hands-ons. For older children, there are physical and mental challenges. For younger kids, there are playthings, which may actually teach them something. (Note: This may take coaxing.) ***** out of 5!!
Lynn Canyon: Lynn Canyon is not as large as the Grand Canyon, but it’s a start. The main attraction is a safe but easily movable suspension bridge (not for those with acrophobia). There are multiple trails leading to and from the bridge, many of which have wooden staircases the size of Alaska and boardwalks leading up to the staircases. ***1/4 out of 5.
David and Jim’s Apartment: This luxurious apartment is available by reservation only and is only available to a select few. Sleeping space consists of a comfy foldout couch and a comfy non-foldout couch. The space is very clean. There is complementary hot cocoa in the morning, courtesy of Jim, and tours of Vancouver with tour guide David. The tv is huge, there is wireless, and they have a Tivo-like system. My only complaint is that the shower door opens and closes rather loudly. ***** out of 5 stars!! Note: The apartment is actually in Burnaby.
