The route to Juneau

We’re still traveling the Inside Passage on the Alaskan Marine Highway, having boarded and exited three different ferries (had to back off the second, at 1 o’clock in the morning, but survived). We’ll bunk three nights in Juneau, just below the Mendenhall Glacier, before getting on a ferry for Haines.

Photos from the first day on the ferry are now at Flickr. More to come in the next few days.

    hey stan and daria,
janet and i traveled down the inside passage in 2003…we drove our campervan from east peoria to fairbanks, then rolled on to the ferry at haines and took it down to prince rupert…on the way down, we stopped for two days and nights at juneau, petersburg and ketchikan…we spent 37 days in alaska, camping every night.

    Thanks for the note Tim.

Hard to keep up posting the photos, but eventually we’ll catch up.

We hiked the overlook for Mendenhall Glacier yesterday. Pretty spectacular.
